The Surgery Retainer Scheme:
The Surgery has offered a retainer scheme to regular patients for over 20 years. A retainer is similar to insurance. Patients pay a set amount and get a free service for a year.
The benefits and conditions are the same as we offer to staff.
It is a very convenient way of getting health services from The Surgery. It is also a very economical ‘add on’ to international insurance policies that offer a cheaper premium for those choosing hospital only, or pay the first amount themselves.
The Surgery scheme is currently $550 a year for In-patient and Out-patient cover and $250 a year for Out-patient cover only.
Please ask the reception for more details.

Companies we bill directly from The Surgery:
There are some insurance companies who we are able to bill directly, which means when you come to see the doctor, you just sign a claim form and your insurer pays us.
For smaller amounts less than 200,000/= UGX ($100 USD or £75 or €75) we would prefer cash or credit card. We will fill in your insurance forms and you can submit them for refund at your convenience.
Some of these companies, especially for travel health insurance, need to send us a Guarantee of Payment before we can bill them, so please contact your insurance company in advance to advise them of your visit to The Surgery.
