Services
At Psychology Practice, located within The Surgery, our experienced team of clinical and educational psychologists has been supporting children, adolescents, and families in Uganda since 2003, delivering culturally sensitive, evidence-based mental health care.
Psychology Practice offers psychotherapy and psychological assessment services for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Support is provided for a wide range of psychological and psychiatric concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioural and learning difficulties, relationship and family challenges, parenting issues, burnout, anger management, eating and sleep disorders, and neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism and ADHD.
The first appointment focuses on understanding the client’s concerns and developing an appropriate treatment plan. For children and adolescents, a comprehensive psychological assessment may be recommended (for more details see downloadable child and adult assessments).
Ongoing sessions are tailored to help clients reduce symptoms, manage stress, and restore balance in their personal, social, and professional lives. A variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches are used, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), play therapy, and systemic therapy.
Treatment is personalized based on the client’s needs, preferred therapeutic approach, and scheduling preferences, with sessions arranged accordingly.
The practice works closely with general practitioners at The Surgery for referrals, coordinated care, and additional medical support when needed.
In addition to clinical services, Psychology Practice provides training, supervision, and support in areas of inclusive education, mental health, child safeguarding, and stress management.
Appointments are available Monday to Saturday and are scheduled in advance. For more information or to book an appointment, please contact: info@psychologypractice.org.
